Toilet training is a learning process, not a disciplinary process. Your
child has to understand what you want, and then has to learn how to do
it.
Sometimes the entire potty training process starts with
introducing a potty chair and having the child master that, then moving to
an adapter seat that fits over the regular toilet and finally progressing
to using the regular toilet all the time.
