Choosing Children's Party Supplies According to your Budget

from: Maxx Family Life

Your child's birthday is coming next week. Have you decided yet to throw a birthday party? What are the things needed? Can you afford the party supplies? You don't need to worry, learn the tips for planning a child's birthday party according to your budget.

Planning carefully is needed. Your child will surely enjoy his/her birthday without noticing that the birthday supplies are cheap.

1. Stick to a detailed plan that your budget can afford in regards the party expenditures. If your kid wants to go on expensive places like amusement park, let her/him invite a special friend or two.

2. Choose an inexpensive venue. Backyards and parks are ideal for big groups of children. They have both the freedom to explore and a huge space to have fun.

3. If the children are invited to play, prepare the games. Get ideas from other parents or friends, check the library for books about party games or search the websites. You can try some favorite old stuff like musical chairs, duck-duck-goose, Simon says or red light, green light.

4. You can make piņatas or purchase from a store for the children treats. However ready made treats are expensive. It is more fun and less costly if you do it together with your kids in advance.

5. Choose the foods you are going to serve. If you are spending on a tight budget, it is better if you prepare the foods including the cake. Make an advance listing of guests and their siblings. Look for inexpensive cakes from cake decoration books or search online.

6. Pre-made foods should be purchased in bulk. Children love inexpensive foods such as pasta salad and hot dogs. Keep plentiful snacks like pretzels, and goldfish crackers. Choose celery sticks or baby carrots for vegetable treats.

7. Serve punch, soda or juice from large containers instead of giving individual containers.

8. Write your own invitation and give them out. Invitations could be handwritten or computerized. It would work well having your creativity and personal touch. You can decide and make it according to the theme of the party. You can give the invitations by hand to save money on stamps or send it through online services if your kid's friends have email addresses. Don't give the invitation in a crowded place which can result to lost invitations thus hurting the feelings of uninvited children.

9. Purchase game prizes, decorations, candies and paper goods from discount or close-out stores. You can ask your neighbors or friends for any left over paper goods from their previous parties for decorations.

10. You can use several items that you already have as part of the birthday decorations. Take for instance; your child is a train fanatic, set the toy train around one of the table's perimeter or set up the doll house in a certain area for girls.

11. Paper lunch bags can be used as goodie bags. It could be more fun if you let your guests decorate their own goodie bags at the party. Fill goodie bags with bulk candy items. You can purchase inexpensive gifts like stickers, yo-yos, ponytails and other kid's items.

Are you ready to start? Birthday supplies should not be a burden to your pocket. Follow these tips and see the glowing happiness in your child's face as he/she celebrates his/her birthday.
