Simple but Healthy Recipes for Children

from: Maxx Family Life

Like adults, children also love to eat. You will see them eating almost every hour of their lives, stuffing different kind of food in their little mouths. They eat a lot and they eat almost everything, from home-cooked foods down to junk foods, especially junk foods. That is why it isn't surprising at all to see children who are overweight or obese.

Kids should have a regular intake of 2,000 calories. Unluckily, not all kids are able to eat the healthiest foods available. In this article, you will read some of the best ideas of what to prepare for your children in order for them to have a healthier and better life.

If your kids love to eat dessert, try preparing yogurt popsicles instead of sugary creamsicles. To do this, let your children choose their favorite yogurt. Then, pour the yogurt into a small cup and wrap it with plastic cover. Put a Popsicle stick on the center and put this in the freezer for an hour or two. When the popsicles are chilled, take them out and remove the plastic cover. Never worry if they consume them all, besides they're also a healthy treat.

Kids also love pizza. But, pizza isn't healthy. However, you can make it as one. Get a bagel. Spread tomato sauce over the bagel. Put some cheese and the other toppings on it. Put it into the microwave and wait for 15 minutes. When it's done, you are assured of preparing a tasty and healthy treat for your children.

Pop drinks are another famous unhealthy drink children like. Water is healthier than any other drinks but kids want more than that. So, why not make a healthy strawberry smoothie instead of letting them consume their pop. To make this, mix ½ cup of strawberries, 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 1/2 cup of strawberry yogurt and 2 ice cubes in a food-mixer or blender. In just a few minutes, your delicious treat will be ready.

Breakfast is very significant to all of us. It maintains every individual's metabolism stable and it can provide energy to work and think all day long. Sadly, kids always miss their breakfast before school. However, you can make a remedy for this. Get a tall cup. Cut into pieces your children's favorite fruits like peaches and apples. Then, put them into the cup. Get their favorite yogurt and put some of it on top of the fruits. Add some dried cranberries and oat bran on it. And presto, you already have a tasty instant breakfast waiting for your children in the morning. If you want to add up extra protein, sprinkle some nuts on it.

Your children would hardly hesitate to eat what you have prepared. Now, you can be sure that your children are not missing their nutrients during breakfast. And you will never worry about them not eating their breakfast before going to school.

Follow the recipes mentioned in this article and you will see how your children grow easy, fast and healthy. In addition, you can already pat yourself on the back for being a devoted parent to your children. Remember, not all parents are able to prepare interesting snack ideas which could help their kids have a better, healthier, and longer life.

When you have accomplished this, be proud of yourself. Share the ideas you learned. Let other parents learn as well to be proud of themselves too and take care of their children's nutrient intake.
