from: Maxx Family LifeTired of the complexities in baking? Never get frustrated. There are still recipes pleasing to the kid's palate that doesn't entail blood and sweat to induce a smile from you. Moms can try the no bake kid's recipe for them.
Cookies and Sweets are kids favorite.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups of powdered sugar
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 cup crunchy peanut butter
2 cups crisp rice cereal (generic or rice krispies)
Chocolate frosting
Procedure:
1. Put powdered sugar and margarine or butter in a huge bowl. Beat it using a mixer until it becomes smooth. Add cereal and peanut butter and stir together. You can use your hands because the mixture sticks to the spoon. Shape the dough into logs in pinky sizes.
2. Put logs into a cookie sheet covered with wax paper. Refrigerate for one hour. Add the chocolate frosting onto logs. Return it to the refrigerator until frosting sets.
3. Take it out from the refrigerator after 20 minutes before serving it to the kids.
No bake bar cookies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1-1/2 cups of peanut butter
1-1/2 cups of corn syrup
12 ounce pack of chocolate chips-semisweet
6 cups special K crisp rice cereal
1/3 cup of peanut butter
Procedure:
1. Combine corn syrup and sugar in a huge microwave safe bowl. Mix well and microwave it for 3 minutes.
2. Stir the mixture in the bowl after removing it from the microwave and scraping it downsides of the bowl. Put it back to the microwave for another 1 minute.
3. Remove it from the microwave. Add 1-1/2 cups of peanut butter. Stir the mixture well until it is smooth before adding the cereal. Stir again to coat. Pour into a 13x9" greased pan and press it evenly using the back of a greased spoon.
4. Combine 1/3 cup of peanut butter and chocolate chips in a small microwave safe bowl. Heat it for two minutes on a medium power. Remove it and stir. Put it back in the microwave for 30 second if chips are to be melted. Stir the mixture until smooth before spreading it over the cereal mixture.
5. Cool completely before cutting it into bars. Cover and store it at room temperature. Makes 36 servings.
Peanut Butter Cereal Bars
Ingredients:
1 cup of white corn syrup
2 tablespoon of butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1-1/2 cup of peanut butter
1 cup of butterscotch chips
8 cups unsweetened cereal
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Procedure:
1. Combine sugar, butter and syrup in a pan.
2. Boil it for one minute.
3. Remove it from heat. Add salt and peanut butter.
4. Pour the cereal. Mix it well.
5. Press it on a 13x2 lightly greased pan.
6. Melt the chips. Spread over the cereal then serve.
Crispy Chocolate Cereal and Peanut Butter Chips
Ingredients:
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 pack 10 ounce marshmallows
1 cup of peanut butter chips
6 cups of chocolate flavored crispy rice cereal
½ cup of chopped peanuts-optional
Procedure:
1. Grease a 13x9" pan.
2. Melt butter and marshmallows in a huge pan, stirring it over a low heat.
3. Remove from heat.
4. Combine the remaining ingredients. Stir and mix it well.
5. Press the mixture into a 13x9" pan.
6. Cut it into 36 bars and serve.
Moms are happier seeing their kids eat what they have prepared. Enjoy eating these crunchy, munchy, yummy treats with them.
