Non-Doll Barbie Collectibles
from: Maxx Family Life: Kid's StuffBarbie dolls aren't the only items collectors collect. These days there's a wide variety of non-doll items that are "must have" items for serious doll collectors.
Suits Me Fine Fashion is a magnificent fashion ensemble that mixes the stylish power suit with the chic elegance of a fabulous evening on the town. It features an eye-catching gray flannel princess-coat, gracefully lined in lilac charmeuse, and a knitted lilac shell and gray flannel short skirt. This outfit does a splendid job of showing off Barbie's typical glamorous style. This outfit is full of delightful accents as well. There is a touch of glitter on her fur collar and cuffs, and she wears seamed pantyhose. Burgundy gloves, matching purse, and black ankle strap high heels are the perfect finishing touch.
The Executive Lunch Barbie doll fashion was introduced as a part of the 1999 membership kit for The Official Barbie Collector's Club. The outfit incorporated a woven black and white suit, a white body suit, black stockings, and splendid black and white spectator heels. Pearl jewelry, and a black purse set off with a red handkerchief with white polka dots were the accompanying accessories.

The Coca-Cola soda fountain is a very authentic reproduction. It's full of scale model collector's quality replicas of reflective soda fountain memorabilia and comes complete with a soda dispenser, jukebox, bottles of COCA-COLA, straws, a straw dispenser, bell soda glasses and a miniature tin tray. It's completely meticulous and artfully displayed. This collector's item is a magnificent way to display your Coca-Cola Barbie and Ken dolls.
Paper dolls are another item of interest to Barbie collectors. Barbie paper dolls were first made available 1962, just three years after Barbie was introduced. Through the years there have been many artists who've designed these Barbie paper dolls.
In 1988, Linda Peck and Marilyn Gandre created several paper doll products. They were the creators and owners of "Collectible Paper Dolls from Peck-Gandre". These were the Nostalgic Blonde Barbie, Nostalgic Brunette Barbie and Nostalgic Ken paper dolls. These dolls were made in tribute to celebrate Barbie's 30th Anniversary. All of these dolls were unique in that they were painted by hand. Each doll is 11 1/2" tall and comes complete with sixteen genuine Barbie fashions, eight that are color and eight in black and white. The dolls arrive packaged in stunning graphic portfolios.
Barbie sewing patterns are items that are of very great interest to collectors. As of only a few years ago, the sewing pattern options available for collectors were rather limited. Prior to the late 1990s, the patterns for Barbie dolls were mostly simplistic or of evening gowns. Today however, all of that is changing. Companies who make patterns have noticed that many adult collectors enjoy sewing clothing for their dolls and the options are widening.
