Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and its Treatment

from: Maxx Family Life

Chronic fatigue syndrome is the condition wherein a person suffers from prolonged fatigue that can't be associated to a specific cause. It has several symptoms, most of which are related to feeling weak and being in pain, along with a sore throat, fever, neuropsychological dysfunction, and visual problems which may occur.

Medically, differential diagnosis is performed to analyze the cause of certain symptoms patients with the chronic fatigue syndrome experiences. Since this is a rather eccentric disease, physicians have to use the elimination process to accurately make a diagnosis. When they reach a working diagnosis, it means the most probable underlying disease has been identified. The doctors then, give corresponding medications accordingly. However, if the condition fails to improve despite the treatments given, their diagnosis has to be reconsidered.

Still, clinically speaking, the methods of effectively treating this disease continue to be worked out. To date, there has been no specific therapy that can determine a ful cure. Rather, the focus is placed on the ways to address the major symptoms connected with the disease.

Since traditional medicines and techniques can't guarantee full treatment, alternative medicines can capitalize. Thus several unconventional methods have been developed. Fortunately, most of them are helpful in improving the patient's condition, as per the testimonials of patients who've given these methods a try.

Chelation and holistic therapies, along with herbal and nutritional supplements are said to work best in a patient with chronic fatigue syndrome. Although these methods aren't totally recognized by the medical society, people use them, especially if they succeed in making them feel better. When it comes to the chronic fatigue syndrome, recovery is somehow slow with traditional medicines, and so may patients consider alternative healing instead.

Whichever treatment method is chosen, it should be remembered at all times that all the techniques and the drugs taken should be fully monitored by a qualified health care professional. It isn't a good idea to try to self-heal, since chronic fatigue syndrome can be very disabling.
