What is Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia?

from: Maxx Family Life

Chronic Fatigue is severe body exhaustion that can last for up to six months. The condition usually has four symptoms. Sufferers may have impaired memory or problems concentrating, in addition to muscle pain, headache, lack of sleep, malaise and a sore throat.

On the other hand, Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterized by pain on several tender points of the body. People with the affliction commonly suffer from insomnia and fatigue, which is caused by dysfunction of the immune system or the hypothalamus. The inadequacy of certain body nutrients also contributes to the disease. Fibromyalgia develops very slowly over years which makes the disease difficult to diagnose.

Both conditions require medical attention since they can occur at different levels of severity. The reality is, each one is difficult to diagnose. Currently, there are no definitive laboratory tests that will to confirm a person has the disease, which is why most doctors consider an all-inclusive approach to the disease, including the use of alternative medicines. It's often up to the patient to determine which direction to go to find relief.

Treatment of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia should be carried out at the first signs of the disease. To begin with, a highly nutritious diet should maintained. The energy required for someone with chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia is found on foods rich in Vitamin B or in several supplement capsules available at most drug stores.

Another way to relieve fatigue is by getting enough peaceful sleep. People with chronic fatigue/fibromyalgia have difficulty sleeping, and when they do get to sleep, it isn't as refreshing as it should be.

Finally, body pains associated with these diseases must be dealt with through taking medications in the form of drug or herbs. Your doctor should be able to prescribe one to you. You might need to switch from one pill to another though, just to determine which drug is most beneficial to you, but make sure you're under the supervision of your doctor.
