Baby Monitors - Mom's Best Friend

from: Maxx Family Life

Pregnant mothers take care of themselves during gestation knowing that everything they come upon can affect the tiny baby growing inside them. She takes every precaution to avoid anything that could be detrimental to her baby. Part of this is choosing the appropriate nutrition and activities to ensure her baby's safety.

After nine long months, the baby is born into the world. Seeing how cumbersome the baby is, a parent's protective nature kicks in. Any parent will certainly do everything for their baby and won't let anything harm the newborn. She'll want to keep an eye on her child 24/7. However, there are a variety of roles a parent has to perform. She has to divide her time taking care of the baby and fulfilling her responsibilities to other family members.

A mother has many things to do around the house while taking care of the well-being of the family plus her husband's satisfaction is maintained. Keeping watch of the baby round the clock is simply an impossible task. Nowadays, technology has contributed much to the convenience of people. Mothers are truly blessed to have baby monitors to aid them.

What are Baby Monitors

Baby monitors are devices that serve as a pseudo mother. It's a radio transmitter that releases FM (Frequency Modulated) signals most commonly between the ranges of 48,830 to 48,890 MHz. These devices have two components, the transmitter and the receiver. Transmitters are placed within 8 - 10 feet of the baby or closer.

Sounds coming from the baby are picked up and a signal is then transmitted to the receiver. Receivers are carried around the house or placed somewhere accessible to the mother or whoever is designated to keep watch over the baby. Usually the transmitter is plugged into a socket from its stationary position while the receiver is battery operated, since it can be brought anywhere.

What Baby Monitors Do

Baby monitors generally help mothers oversee their baby without having to spend the entire day inside the baby's room. Thus the mother can do what must be done around the house while still monitoring their baby. From the time baby monitor were first released, countless innovations have been made.

A variety of products permit auditory signals to be heard and also allow the mother from the receiver's end to visualize their baby and play music to soothe the baby, even from a distance. These devices are no longer just electric devices but offers a several advantages in determining baby's well-being.

Some top of the line devices have sensors placed under the baby's mattress that detects even the most subtle of movements, including the baby's breathing. When no movement is detected for a span of 20 seconds or if breathing is below the medically accepted rate, an alarm is triggered, thereby notifying mom.

This is truly useful for perceiving life threatening conditions. Whatever type moms choose, it will contribute enormously in making mom's life easier. Baby monitors are definitely one of her best friends.
